2007-03-19 | Transponder RF with GPS (format credit card)
Chronelec launches on the market the first transponder RF with integrated GPS, power by a battery lithium ion.
All the tests were perfomed during car rally with 15 checkpoints.
This transponder has two operating modes:
- RF
- RF + GPS
In mode radio frequency, this transponder is identified with precision using two, three or four antennas positioned judiciously on finish line (no loop required).
In mode radio frequency + GPS, this transponder (with power of 500mW) emits permanently its position which is delivered by only one antenna on arrival. The range can be 3km.
It is possible to follow on a screen the competitors and the direction taken.
The system of reception (which works in differential mode) analyzes the data received of the moving body as well as the data of certain beacons in order to determine the exact position of the moving body with a margin of a few centimetres.
The transponder also memorizes, with regular intervals, the position of the mobile what makes it possible to trace the chart of the passages on arrival (ex : car rally).
For the races in sea, in the event of accident, this transponder is a powerful safety member because it emits the position of the person. The emission can be delivered with several km, if research is carried out by plane or helicopter.
At the time of FRANCE championship jet ski at CANET EN ROUSSILLON in May 25th, 26h, 27th and 28th, the timekepers of the Speedboat French Federation will use this new system.
This transponder is useful for the following disciplines: Offshore, jet ski, sailing, oar, horse races, rallys...

2007-03-13 | Alpha-numeric scoreboard
Chronelec proposes a new alpha-numeric scoreboard with smd led of 72 mm height readable up to 50m. These scoreboards have 4 leds by point (that is to say 8736 leds) with automatic adjustment of the luminosity have a high quality display even in full sun. The number of characters per line can be 10, 16, 26 or 32.
Text can be display according to 3 modes :
- normal
- double width
- ravelling text
They are equipped with a 500mW radio modem (secure protocol). The power supply is 12V or 220V.
Dimensions for a scoreboard of 2 lines with 26 characters are : 1280 mm X 350 mm X 60 mm.
Made in aluminium with painting gloss.
These scoreboards of 2 lines can be put together in order to make a giant scorboard of 20 lines maximum.
The design and manufacture are made at Chronelec thanks to our automatic SMT placement.

With a very reduced format, this new transponder activated by the loop, is equipped with exceptional performances for its category.
It was especially developed for the following disciplines: ROLLER, CYCLING, VTT, SKI, ATHLETICS.
Thanks to its extremely low consumption (< 2µA) and its activation at the time of the passage on the loop, this transponder has a 5 years autonomy.
Only one load in 5 years for several tens of thousands of passages.
The completely automated manufacture of a first series of 10 000 transponders will begin in February 2007 at Chronelec.
