The transponder has become indispensable for automatic and accurate timing.
Indeed, for example during the timing by hand of an endurance event, it is necessary to note, at each lap, the competitor number and his passing time. This manipulation requires constant control and vigilance throughout the duration of the event (precision of the time taken, good allocation of time to the right competitor) and requires depending on the type of event and the number of competitors involved, the presence of 4 to 10 people.
In addition, you must be able to give the results of the races very quickly and justify these results in the event of any complaints (disagreement of the competitor on a lap time, on his ranking position at a time of the race etc…).
To overcome these problems, Chronelec has developed several timing systems solution using decoders, transponders and softwares. Chronelec transponders come in different shapes and features, depending on the type of sport to be timed.
The decoder transcribes the information transmitted by the detection loop(s) placed on the track and originating from the transmission of the transponders.
12 vehicles at a maximum speed of 360 km/h (225 mph) can be detected when they are simultaneously in the detection loops.
